  |   | Case Study: TrueTrials and Web 2.0 The Company TrueTrials was a startup company providing services to the clinical trial industry. The TrueTrials solution brings together sponsors and sites in a single, mutually beneficial clinical research community. Sponsors are able to find reliable sites capable of conducting timely trials. Research sites are recognized for good work and rewarded with better access to future studies. TrueTrials creates trust between these parties using a dynamic reputation system that identifies high performing sites through objective ratings.
The Challenge TrueTrials was started by two co-founders with strong domain knowledge and product management experience. They saw a market opportunity and were convinced that they had the product concept to address the market need. With this great idea, they needed to determine how to turn the concept into reality.
The Solution TrueTrials and Aerio decided to team up to develop this state-of-the-art system. Aerio acted as the technical architect and the software development team for TrueTrials. At the start of the project, TrueTrials had a full development team that was cohesive and experienced. Aerio’s staff worked with TrueTrials as if they were part of the startup.
Aerio is the pioneer in the integration of open source framework and components into custom applications. Aerio Foundation a development platform combining the benefit of open source tools like Prado, Qcode, GACL and Aerio’s ready-to-use component libraries. It is well suited for developing advanced web application with AJAX and Web 2.0 user interface. TrueTrials had put strong emphasis on producing an intuitive and user-friendly application. The Aerio team was able to utilize Aerio Foundation to deliver a system that meets this requirement.
